Area of interest: High performance computing, Algorithms
Mini project:
1. Implementation of RSA algorithm using general purpose graphics processing unit(GPGPU). (Related to area of interest)
2. Online password repository (web based stuff with a backend database). Implemented some basic security features like avoiding sql injection, storing password hashes, disabling indexing.
3. Vehicle theft registration and alert system. (same as 2. ) . Concerned with security again.
No 2 and 3 are not in the area of interest. Did it as a part of course curriculum and added the security stuff just for fun.
Research Paper:
1. Data Regression using normal equations on GPU using CUDA in IJCSITS journal(low impact factor)
Basically a parallel implementation of a basic machine learning algorithm.
Internship:
1. (3 months)Worked at a US based startup as a telecommute employee. Developed a software agent and manager using openssl for transferring data and files. Also Implemented remote command execution with emphasis on performance.
2. (6 months) Same company. Helped in the design and developed the basic prototype for a new generation "Security integration and event management" product. This prototype is being used for demonstration to acquire funding. Again the main emphasis was performance. Used distributed database, design patterns and added(after modification) the source code of CLIPS(Forward inference engine developed by NASA used in AI). My employment letter mentioned me as a software engineer so it can be used as a full time experience.
Work-ex:
1. (1 year by fall 2013). Joining a web development and mobile app company starting next month( July 2012). So by the start of next term I will have a year of work-ex.

LOR:
1. From the founder of the startup I interned from.
2. From a professor in my college whose interest is also in high performance computing.
3. Yet to decide. (academic or professional?).

Please suggest some Universities for MS.

You have an outstanding profile dude no doubt about it so you can expect an admit in A+ rated university but will you be able to afford them as their tuition fees as way too high!

Thanks for replying. I don't think this profile won't get me through most A+ universities(MIT,Stanford, Caltech).
Although my dream University is CMU(so I am applying fot it anyways) but apart from that can you suggest me some other Universities in the moderate and ambitious region that are worth applying.
I can try to manage some funds if the education is worth it.
