1. University of Illinois at Chicago => MS in CS- mod univ
2. Illinois institute of technology - College of Science => MS in CS- u will get admit,
3. Northern Illinois University => MS in CS - safe but not a good univ for CS
4. Loyola University Chicago => MS in CS- safe but not good post MS prospects
5. University of Texas at Dallas => MS in CS- they need good undergrad and a gre>310
6. Duke University => MS in CS- ambi univ
7. TAMU Texas => MS in CS- ambi, dont apply
8. University of Texas at San Antonio=> MS in CS- mod/safe
9. University of North Texas => MS in CS- mod but good chances

I was just thinking, as I have good UG %age ie 80%(Topper) which is 3.7 on 4 point scale and 5+ work experience, do we get an advantage for these in getting admit? I will get good LORs from my college and office. Will it make any difference? I am quite interested in UTD and TAMU. Is there any chance that my work ex and good academics will overpower the GRE score constraint?

Could you please suggest some good options for my score and experience. Preference is IL and Texas. Rest if exceptionally good/suited, then any location is okay.

The UG percentage and extremely glorified LOR and SOP do help u alot but not substantially. It varies from school to school, some consider the overall profile and some pay more weightage to academics so its a mixed bag.
As i said work ex help to strengthen ur overall profile. nothing can substitute the GRE score.
As per ur score the univ u have shortlisted are perfect. Try for UTD and UIC and IIT.

Just an advice....have you considered retaking GRE?? Your profile looks very good otherwise

I have given my TOEFEL and the score is 102. Will it make any difference in the suggestions and decision of any college?
